Happiness Is... Living in Accordance with Your Beliefs
Thought for the day/week/month! =)

James 1:22 - Do what God's teaching says; when you only listen and do nothing, you are fooling yourselves.

Life is a series of choices. Each day, we make countless decisions that can bring us closer to God... or not. When we live according to God's commandments, we earn for ourselves the abundance and peace that He intends for our lives. But, when we turn our backs upon God by ignoring Him or disobeying Him, we bring needless pain and suffering upon ourselves and our families.

When you're faced with a difficult choice or a powerful temptation, seek God's counsel and trust the counsel He gives. Note-to-self: God's word is absolute! Invite God into your heart and live according to His commandments.

And when God speaks to you through that little quiet voice that He has placed in your heart, listen! When you do, you will be blessed today, tomorrow and forever. And you'll discover that happiness means living in accordance with your beliefs. No exceptions.

Words to ponder:

'The time is always right to do what is right.' -Martin Luther King, Jr.

'If you want to be respected for your actions, then your behaviour must be above reproach.' -Rosa Parks

'Don't worry about what you do not understand. Worry about what you do understand in the Bible but do not live by.' -Corrie Ten Boom

'When you discover the Christian way, you discover your own way as a person.' -E. Stanley Jones

'Christianity says we were created by a righteous God to flourish and be exhilarated in a righteous environment. God has "wired" us in such a way that the more righteous we are, the more we'll actually enjoy life' -Bill Hybels

Other thoughts: Galatians 6:7-8, 1 Peter 1:13-15

Face it: Talking about beliefs is easy. But making your actions match your words is much harder! Why? Because you are a normal human being, and that means that you can be tempted by stuff and by people. Nevertheless, if you really want to be honest with yourself, then you must make your actions match your beliefs. Period.

New Leaders!
Hello UWA!

Guess I'll take some time off my busy schedule in work and be the first to post up something. It has indeed been a good and exciting semester that just passed, and I do believe we're headed for a better one ahead. In addition to our zone's leadership, we now have:

3 new Cell Leaders: Rachel Chia, Jeremy Tan and Joshua Lau.

3 new Cell Interns: Stephanie Sim, Lucas Lin and Jia Li Ma.

8 new Cell Helpers: Mark Cheong, Vera Lee, Henry Yap, James Lim, Isabel Tan, Khang Wee Tay, Lijin Ong and Michelle Hon.

Welcome aboard! Congratulations too! Our zone is indeed growing, both in character and numbers and we're expecting this growth to be continuing and to be growing exponentially in the near future. So, indeed, we are preparing for this, and getting ready for whenever it comes. We don't want to be left out when the season of reaping comes. (Remember my orientation msg at the beginning of this Semester? If you forgotten.. tsk..)

Your zone supervisors have a dream/vision. We plan to become to biggest (Character, Numbers, you name it...) zone in Passion, spread our influences (the good ones) and lead by example in this church. We are not very far away indeed, and I do believe it can be accomplished within a few semesters. No, I don't mean poaching their members, however much I would like to. haha! We thrive on competition. Iron sharpens iron.

Anyway, I'm sure more posts will come up regarding our direction and vision for this semester by our dear Zone-Supervisor-In-charge, and this post is really just to honor those people who have decided to step out of their comfort zone and help make this zone a better place (I know, I know, it's already the best there is, but believe it or not, there are some things we can work on... haha!).

Blessings!

Joshua
