Sunken down so far
So scared to fall
I might not get up again
So I lay at your feet
All my brokenness
I carry all of my burdens to you
All of these things
I've held up in vain
No reason nor rhyme
Just the scars that remain
Of all of these things
I'm so much afraid
Scared out of my mind
By the demons I've made
Sweet Jesus, you never ever let me go
Oh, sweet Jesus, never ever let me go
So happy to love
Yet so far to go
You lead me on to where I've never been before
Much Afraid (Jars of Clay)
Was just listening to this song when it spoke to me. So many times we fear so many things. So many times we feel so vulnerable. But it just reminds me that we live by faith and not by sight. May this song minister to you in times of trouble. :)

before i start, do this: bite on ur tongue real hard till it actually hurts! don't stop till it actually hurts.
ok, now before i get sent to crazy people paradise, stop! stop biting ur tongue!!
as we've heard this before over and over again, pain is good for u, no?
let me tell u a story. once again not for the faint-hearted.
once a upon a time in a far far away land called fairyway, there live this girl who ain't very wise. so she prayed to God for wisdom as said in James 1:5-6 If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him. But when he asks, he must believe and not doubt, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. and God answered prayers, no? so the God of how much more, who gives us more than what we ask for, did. and ta-dah instead of 1, she got 4 wisdom teeth! but lo-and-behold, her very wise wisdom tooth grew horinzontally instead of the normal vertical way and it's hurting her. [wisdom hurts!] so instead of staying wise, she has to pulled em out.
the irony *siGh*
yada, yada [i'm out of stupid ideas] yea, not very creative now that my wisdom is 50% gone.
so anyways, the point is when i got home, i felt like napping. so i did. mind u, my whole right face was numb due to multiple shots of LA. so i napped while biting on the gauze to apply pressure on my gums hence reduce the bleeding.
yes, yes..u know what happened. when i woke up, i thought my mouth felt funny and was more bloody than before. strange, but i ignored it. i changed my gauze and continued to bite on it. hence after a long while right before service, after being very frustrated with the constant bleeding which never seemed to slow down one bit, i asked jeremy to check my gums if they were still bleeding to only realise that all this while i've been biting on my tongue hard instead of the gauze! *owwww-- sobx* i still feel the pain~
but because it was numb, i couldn't feel the pain. so yes, tell urself pain is good for me! pain is good for me! pain is good for me!
so hey ever wonder why ur constantly bleeding but never felt pain in ur life? even when u do wrong, u no longer feel guilt. sinning or bad habits becomes so natural to u u dont even struggle anymore. u bleed urself dry and u wonder where's that tugging gone to.
check! maybe u've become numb. and you cant feel His Spirit anymore. have u been constantly injecting urself with anesthetic to somehow close one eye? just for that lil while so u dont feel pain.
.careful.
let's constantly pray and check ourselves daily that we will always be sensitive to His Spirit so we don't bleed ourselves dry and become bloodless-Christians [if there's ever such a thing] we should be blood-y Christians in a not rude way, no?
anyways, just a thought!
love,

Anyway, i just want to share some of my thoughts and experiences so far at Hillsongs Conference 2009. If i can sum it all up in one word, it would be OVERWHELMING! Phew, everything from the videos, sound, music, the preaching and the fellowship. There are so many things that i really want to share and pass on to you guys but Eunice has graced me with 30 minutes on her computer. HOHOHO.
This is what i learned from day 3......
Embrace the PAIN. That's right it is 'pain' that i just typed out. Craig G. shared about pain in our lives, especially as leaders and all of us need to embrace the necessary pain to live the life he has called us to. In 2 Corinthians 11:23-27, Paul talks about the pain and suffering he has been through, from being whiped 39 times on 5 seperate occasions to having nothing to eat but yet in the light of all his suffering and pain, it was nothing compared to his heart and passion he had for the church. In verse 28, he says 'besides the other things' ie, on top of all the suffering he has been through, it is nothing compared to his concern for the church and the pain he has suffered for the body of Christ.
Now say, "pain is my friend"!
Other than that, God wants to increase our threshold of pain of pruning.
John 15 talks about God being the gardener that prunes and shapes us. And i'm sure pruning isn't a very enjoyable thing to experience but it shows that God has a greater plan for you! Sometimes you have to move backwards before you can move forward. Don't be afraid if at first you do not see the fruits from you labour and toil and pruning and pain. God doesn't want you to blame yourself when you don't see your ministry or cell group growing because He doesnt want you to take credit for the increase and growth. God does something in you before He does something through you. So accept the pain that comes with the territory of new growth and moulding!
That's pretty much my summary of the morning session with Craig G. I hope that this will keep you guys excited to hear more about this interesting topic. Hehehe
Anyway, on a side note, I really want to share a little bit on what i've learnt on the whole. I'll try to make it as simple as possible. Coming to this conference as a cell leader and a 'seasoned Christian' i've come to a fact that what I know about God so far in my 23 years is almost close to nothing. Just when you think you know Him, He never ceases to come and blow my mind, it's just really overwhelming to experience God with a few thousand other believers. The sound of worship is scary and makes my hair literally stand up. Every sermon i hear, every testimony shared never fails to bring me to tears. It's been a very personal experience for me and i believe, one that i will never forget. God is just awesome, it's something that no words or pictures or videos can explain. He is Yahweh, a personal God, love that sacrificed for us

Here's a little contribution from me from day-2 of Hillsongs! It's been a really LONGGG and full-on day; there's so much to share I dont quite know which one to pick on! (think i wrote a total of 7 pages back to back today?? lol) Don't worry though, i will make this short and sweet for you! Hah!
Well, like what Eunice mentioned, yesterday's speaker was AWESOME!! And day 2 just got even better and better. Hallelujah! We had Brian Houston and Jentezen Franklin as our main speakers today; and many other great leaders who shared their wisdom with us through the different workshops they offered. I am frankly very empowered by every single message that I heard today but as I pondered upon what to share here tonight, I really feel that God wants me to share the real spirit of worship with you guys. I could be sharing Jentezen Franklin's awesome message, but something nudges me to pass on the spirit of excellent yet heartfilled worship to our zone back home.
We all know that worship is not so much about the great music or the awesome voice or even the "keng-ness" of the lyrics. It is about the HEART. And what Ive noticed from this conference so far is that, without fail, every single worship session has been so POWERFUL and personal despite the big congregation. Every one singing with all their heart and might, losing themselves in the presence of the Almighty; giving God what He deserves and honoring Him with our voices. It is really not about the song itself, because we could be singing just one line over and over again, yet the atmosphere did not die down with a boring repetition; instead, the more we sang, the more powerful it got. It's really like getting a touch from Heaven as we bless His Name.
Why am I sharing this? My heart's cry is to see our people honoring God and giving Him what He deserves through our worship. True, we give Him glory with our entire life (not just worship) but I would like to specifically focus on worship today because we have to know that worship is one of the essential elements in our walk with Him. Darlene Zschech shared today that our songs welcome the Holy Spirit, they speak of FAITH and they draw us closer to God. So as we worship, may our worship be not of lip-service (Matt 15:8-9), may our worship be sincere, REAL, between just YOU and GOD (pausing there.. remember, JUST you and God.. you and God..), a worship that draws down the presence of God, a worship that is so powerful that can shake the whole atmosphere. Shall we challenge ourselves this semester to grow in this area perhaps? (Hah, those in my cell...wink wink!)
Darlene Zschech came up today to share with us her testimony about the hard times she went through and how she held on despite being challenged in her faith. One thing God led her to was to worship. She very strongly told us that that was NOT just a suggestion, it was an instruction. Many times we come across the phrase "I WILL sing..." in the bible and the word "will" here tells us that it is a decision. (eg Judges 5:3, Ps 108:1, Ps 57:7 etc etc). Wow! When Darlene mentioned that singing is not just a suggestion, but an instruction, that really got me thinking. May our hearts be ever singing to our Lord be it the ups or the downs sides of our lives.
God bless!!
