Philippians 4:11-12 - I am not telling you this because I need anything. I have learned to be satisfied with the things I have and with everything that happens. I know how to live when I am poor, and I know how to live when I have plenty. I have learned the secret of being happy at any time in everything that happens.
Happiness is a choice; it depends on how you interpret life. To be happy, you must learn to interpret the world and its events in a positive fashion. This means that you begin programming yourself to see the good in everything; no matter what happens, no matter what goes down. Then, when you find the good in every situation, you take that good, and you build upon it.
It's amazing how many people, especially those who portray themselves as "victims," conclude that the lives they're experiencing have been chosen for them. But they're mistaken. In truth, their lives - all of our lives - are composed of our choices... we are who we are today because of every single choice we have made; good, bad and ugly.
Every life, including yours, is a tapestry of choices. And the quality of your life depends, to a surprising extent, on the quality of the choices you make. Would you like to enjoy a life of abundance and significance? If so, you must make choices that are pleasing to God.
From the instant you wake up in the morning until the moment you nod off to sleep at night, you make lots of decisions: decisions about the things you do, decisions about the words you speak, and decisions about the thoughts you choose to think. Today and every day, it's up to you (and only you) to makes wise choices, choices that enhance you life and build a stronger relationship with the Creator. After all, He deserves your best... and so do you.
Words to ponder:

'Contentment is something we learn by adhering to the basics; cultivation a growing relationship with Jesus Christ, living daily, and knowing that Christ strenthens us for every challenge.' -Charles Stanley
'The happiness which brings enduring worth to life is not the superficial happiness that is dependent on circumstances. It is the happiness and contentment that fills the soul even in the midst of the most distressing of circumstances and most bitter environment.' -Billy Graham

Every major failure in life - whether it's related to love, health, money, or anything else - every major failure is simply the result of a lot of little failures along the way that were never attended to. Little failures add up if you let them... so don't let them.
